Independent Expert Services

Expert evidence is frequently used in Litigation and arbitration. Experts are normally appointed by parties to give their independent opinion on issues beyond the arbitral tribunal’s expertise, such as delay matters, quantum, and “foreign” law, thereby assisting the arbitrwal tribunal in its decision-making process.

We have acted in the two main categories of experts, party-appointed experts, and tribunal-appointed experts.


As an Independent Experts we:


  • Review both parties position towards claims made for Time and Quantum Incl. Time-Related Costs.

  • Assess the evidence presented by both parties, including any documents, reports, or testimony.

  • Provide an expert opinion on Time and Quantum Matters, Typically a main expert report and, if needed, a rebuttal expert report.

  • Exchange Reports and Provide Joint-Reports with other-party’s Experts as Instructed.

  • Assist the parties and the arbitral tribunal in understanding technical or specialized issues relevant to Time & Costs aspects of the dispute.

  • Attend hearings, if required, to provide expert testimony and respond to questions from the parties or the arbitral tribunal, Including Hot Tubbing & Cross Examination.

  • Submit written reports or provide oral evidence to the arbitral tribunal, or as instructed. 

  • Be impartial and independent in their approach, and disclose any conflicts of interest that may arise.
